What is a face lift?

            Face lift is a plastic surgery which can remove the extra fat; it can tighten muscles and re-arrange the skin of the face, which can results a more youthful appearance.

  • If you are a smoker
  • If you scars easily
  • Or you have a history of cold sores or blister in the mouth
  • Or history of acne
  • Or any allergies from drugs, foods, etc.

What are the common risks of a facelift Thailand?

            Like some of the plastic surgeries, rhytedectomy has also some risks.  This includes:

  • Scarring
  • Bleeding or the collection of blood beneath the skin (hematoma)
  • Skin necrosis
  • Skin loss
  • Pain
  • Skin contour irregularities
  • Fluid accumulation
  • Numbness or other changes in skin sensation
  • Anesthesia risks
  • Skin discoloration
  • Suture problems requiring removal
  • Possibility of another or revision of surgery
  • Dissatisfaction of results

But these conditions improve or heal within days or weeks after the surgery.  However, these conditions also are permanent, and another surgery will be needed to correct the problem.

How about the complete recovery after the face lift procedure?

            Mostly, patients can recover in two weeks to one month.  During this time, the bruises will heal and the swelling subsides.  The patient must have to relax and avoid some strenuous physical activities.  It is normal often times for the patient to feel numbness and some muscle stiffness.  And the complete return of the sensation will take after several months.   Avoid wearing earrings until the sensation returns.  Scars will fade after a year and the skin will soften.

What I need to more about my surgeon’s advice?

            The patient must follow her doctor’s instructions carefully and religiously after the surgical procedure.   He will give instructions regarding activities, bathing, use of make-ups and more.   Following his instructions, eating balanced diet will speed up the healing process.    If the patients develop a fever or notice any abnormalities, consult the surgeon immediately.
